American Romance: San Diego

And we’re off! Mr and Mrs Romance are in America on an incredible tour that will take us from the west coast of California to Illinois to the east coast and New York City. Here we tell our story through the Instagram pictures we’ve created.

Goodbye rainy Sydney

We leave Sydney in the pouring rain. Great how it makes it so much easier to head off!

Beach squirrel on the drive south to San D

As we drive down the coast from LAX to San Diego, we stop to look at the Pacific Ocean. This little fella popped out to say hello! Squirrels at the beach – who’d have thought it!

Lovely old architecture in San D

San Diego has some incredible architecture. This is the Museum of Man.

Ocean Beach, San Diego

Ocean Beach, San Diego is home to a beautiful pier but also the OB Farmers’ Markets and some delicious food!

Pond overlooking the botanic gardens, Balboa Park

This pond faces the botanic gardens in Balboa Park, one of the most visited parks in the USA.

Mrs R in the pool

Mrs Romance takes a dunk in our friends Brendan and Mona’s pool. Yup, she’s pretty happy at this point!

Old Glory in all her glory

You can’t get more American that the Stars and Stripes. Old Glory is everywhere at the moment as 4th July was just a couple of weeks ago.
