It looks like the summer’s finally leaving Sydney. Temperatures are dropping, the wind’s picking up and the days are getting shorter. The good news is though that the sunrises are easier to get up for and the clouds are much more dramatic.
Might also be a cue for those like Mrs Romance, who’s not keen on the cold, to start looking for where to go to hide from the winter. It’s certainly what we’ve been doing this week. I wonder where this winter will take us…

Tonight, we’re attending the last of three excellent liquor lectures by Kathleen from Nip Of Courage. Nip of Courage promotes, represents, supports and distributes high quality Australian craft spirits.
The last two classes have been exploring gin and rum. But this week we’re delving into the delicious realm of whisky. Australia is making some amazing stuff at the moment, and according to Kathleen there’s even better to come!
The class tonight is enthralling. The things in this picture symbolise what you need to make a good drop: grain, peat, copper and the fired wood of an oak barrel. And water of course!
Can’t wait for the next session of masterclasses.
This morning’s dawn is absolutely stunning. It’s usually means a rough day ahead weather-wise. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
As we thought, it’s a sulky, stormy day here in Sydney today. That’s ok though. We’re focusing on the weekend just gone and the Aperol spritz cocktails at Q Station – our review of this Sydney secret is coming up this week by the way.
This view is worth dwelling on for as long as possible, I think you’ll agree!
Mid week and the weather’s changing again! It’s been beautifully sunny today but now it’s getting windy again. The Harbour’s full of sailing boats and the sky’s full of odd-shaped clouds. What’s going to happen next?
Even I didn’t expect this. As the sun’s set, the rain’s started and a rainbow has framed the city. It’s a dramatic end to the day.
Mrs Romance has launched her latest Braid Bar concept: the Daddy-Daughter class. It’s the first of its kind, and I think it’s a stroke of genius.
Dads bring their little girls to meet Mrs R – aka Hair Romance – and learn how to braid. It’s perfect for dads to learn how to get their daughters ready for school in the morning or in the evening before the family goes out, plus it’s an amazing bonding time to make the most of.
Also open to big brothers, uncles and grandfathers, Mrs R’s first Daddy-Daughter class is coming up on Tuesday 2nd April.

For my final comment this week, I’d like to draw your attention to these lovely cakes I’ve found. They were the crowning glory of a really quite lovely high tea. You’ve got to admit, they’re… off-putting, right?
