Ok. Who said it was all right for November to up and bugger off? It’s not right, you know. I certainly wouldn’t have signed off on it. And there’s no way I’m fine with Christmas being only 24 days away either.
And this week hasn’t helped. It seems like only a second ago I was enjoying a very pleasant Sunday brunch with friends… and then I realised, no, that wasn’t this Sunday just gone – it was a whole week ago. Ridiculous.
Having said that, this week has been full of awesome stuff… but don’t take my word for it, see for yourself!
The first Christmas party of the season has finally come. It’s a bit of a punctuation mark of this time of year – and I’m glad to say it’s looking to be a screamer! Our agency The Remarkables Group has thrown a ripper of a do with a day of edumacation and catching up with everyone, and then this evening we’ve been invited to check out this incredibleness.
This is a house in Sydney’s oldest suburb – The Rocks – and it’s been taken over temporarily by Stoneleigh Winery. It’s an incredible place, styled to look like nature’s taken her house back. It’s part of Stoneleigh’s latest range, ‘Wild Valley’. They’ve used wild yeast and haven’t really tampered with the winemaking process much to produce a very natural wine.
This house – bought for a cool $3.7 mil – needs a great deal of renovation work doing to it, but the owner has leased it to the winery to do what they want with. The result – and after an enormous amount of extraordinarily talented styling – is this.
Each room is designed to reflect the tastes and ambience of each wine. It’s amazing.
Check out the Stoneleigh website for more details.
Even the garden at Stoneleigh No.50 has been styled to an inch of its over-grown life. And Mrs Romance and Carly from Smaggle.com have taken advantage of its beauty to show off theirs too!
And we’re on again! This is the last Little Blog Big session of the tour and of the year.
The seminars have taken Mrs Romance, Carly and me all over the place – Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra and now back in Sydney. The session is going very well and I think the sugar in these bad boys will take the energy levels in the room to another level!
Well, the sugar worked – but at the end of the day it’s all about the wine, isn’t it?! I’m certainly in need of a drop after my inaugural speaking gig. Mrs Romance and Carly have asked me to give a quick live demo on how to use the photo editing app Snapseed. I love this app so I’m more than happy to talk about it… still, this glass of Scarborough Chardonnay is going to be all the sweeter!
If you haven’t tried Scarborough Wine’s Chardonnay before by the way, get some into you. It’s excellent. Even people who tell me they don’t like Chardonnay love this. It’s certainly a cornerstone of the Chardonnay renaissance we wrote about a while ago.
It’s always my job (and pleasure) to pour the wine at the end of Little Blog Big events but now I feel a bit of pressure. Ever since writing about what the perfect temperature for all different wines is, I’ve become a bit obsessive. Think I need to relax a bit!
Tonight – if our lives weren’t good enough already – we’re going for dinner here! The Ferris wheel in Sydney’s oldest fairground Luna Park is set up every Sunday in the summer to be a big rotating restaurant!
Catered by the Deck Bar and Restaurant, guests get a full 3-course dinner with matching wine as they ride the high life on this Sydney icon. The views are going to be amazing!
Sure enough, the views from up here are incredible. The food’s not half bad either! Watch this space for our full review – this experience is way to good for us not to write about. In fact if you’re looking for one of the most fun romantic things to do in this city – if not the country, here’s our top tip!
How was your weekend? On a scale of 1-10 of how ridiculously quickly you think 2015 has gone, what would you rate it? Tell us in the comments!
Sonia from Sonia Styling
11 is how ridiculously quickly 2015 has gone! As if tomorrow is December. I haven’t even thought about putting our Christmas tree up or hanging the wreath on our front door…let alone buying any gifts!
I was so sad to have missed The Remarks Christmas do – it would have been a lovely opportunity to see you guys. x
Mr Romance
It’s stupid, isn’t it, Sonia?! In some ways I wish everything would just speed up more and get Christmas out of the way and done with… and then I remember that it’s actually awesome! Brace yourself though – it’s almost here!
