We always love to see what interesting things the guys at Zeta Bar at the top of Hilton Sydney are going to do next. This winter’s not disappointed with ‘Apres Ski’ every Friday for the next couple of months.
The last time we saw Zeta Bar transform it was to the tune of belly dancing and magic shows with their Arabian Nights theme running through the height of summer.
Now Zeta is paying tribute to the best part about skiing: the bar life!
There’s nothing better than being toasty warm in winter – especially when that warmness comes from a big ol’ fireplace and some well-crafted fire water!
I really liked the Nordic Martini. It had a hefty punch from the chartreus but the smoky vermouth calmed it down to a nice belly warmer.
The Toasted Marshmallow Gin Fizz is also a winner from Zeta’s featured cocktails. There’s quite a lot to it so making it at home is virtually impossible… but that’s why we go out, isn’t it?!
The hot toddy was a bit too sweet for me but still ok, and the rum blazer looked impressive.
Food-wise, make sure you try the cakepops. There’s also a cheese fondu that’s crying out to be eaten, but it’s the drinks and the incredible view of the Queen Victoria Building you should be going for.
It’s the perfect start to an awesome mid-winter’s Friday night – and I think we might have mentioned how much we like rooftop bars once or twice before, haven’t we?!
So what’s in the cocktails?

It’s a great little venue, Thalia – even when the Apres Ski thing isn’t on. But check it out. And the view’s amazing.
