That’s a very good point. People shouldn’t put each other down. I completely agree – it’s not cool to call your partner names.
I probably should explain though that when I wrote that note to Mrs R, I was also a blonde – we’d both had our hair bleached almost white. Probably not our best look ever but there you go. Things people do when they’re in love, ay? So I wasn’t really calling her dumb, it was more of an expression, and she took it as that.
As a side point, it wasn’t what I got her for her birthday present – that was just a note to tell her that her real present – tickets to the ballet – were in her bag.
The details of that part of the story aren’t clear in the post. It’s funny, I was going to include them in my side of things but thought it would make the post too long. If I’d known Mrs R was going to include this in her side of the story, I would have so it was clearer. That’s the beauty of our He Said, She Said posts – we never know what the other person’s going to say or what they’ll write until we’ve published the post. Makes things a lot more interesting.

LOVE your story, Tine! So funny but so romantic too. I wonder what he was saying when he was mumbling away! Glad you managed to convince him to repeat the question though.
Christina and I were going out for seven years before we finally got hitched. Shocking, isn’t it? How could I have kept such a lovely lady hanging on for so long?!
