It’s amazing, Sonia. So many of our friends also had quiet ones this last NYE. And the one who went all out ended up having a bad night. Something in that? Yours sounds like a really good night by the way. I’ve always liked the sound of ‘platter’! It’s a bit like ‘banquet’. Makes me hungry!

I find it to be completely over-hyped and with a stupid amount of pressure to have plans and for those plans to be amazing. However. This past NYE saw all of our friends spread out amongst various states (and countries) but all doing basically the same thing – a low key celebration with only a few people. We spent ours at home with a platter, 2 bottles of bubbles (Barrister’s Block ‘Poetic Justice’) and our mate, Pagey. We then wandered down to a local restaurant, enjoyed a seafood platter and bottle of wine, then back to ours for a couple of cocktails and the countdown. The bonus? No hangover the next morning and a whole new day of a new year to enjoy!
