I’m not sure how I first stumbled across Carla Coulson’s photography but I’ve been an avid fan ever since.
Carla’s story of moving to Italy and becoming a photographer is so inspiring. On her blog she shares her beautiful photos mixed with her travel tips and her advice for new photographers.
I’m also lucky to now call her a friend.
I really wanted her to photograph me and Mr Romance when we were in Paris but Mr R was not interested. After seeing this shoot by Carla in Paris, I added “photoshoot with Jim” to my must do list. Try as I could, poor guy hates having his picture taken, and so I had to put a hold on that dream. Can you imagine how beautiful those pictures would have been? And in Paris! Sigh.
We did still meet up with Carla in Paris for coffee and she told us how excited she was about her new book, Naples – A Way of Love. She said she’d been waiting for over 12 years to create this book.
It’s a journey through Naples that most tourists never get to see. Often Naples can get a bad rap, but Carla fell in love with the city the first time she set foot on its crazy streets.
Naples is a divisive place that you either love or hate. Like Carla, I love it too. We visited there last year at the end of our Italian trip and we wished we had allowed more time to explore this colourful city.
See Naples in a new way, as told by Carla and journalist Lisa Clifford, in Naples – A Way of Love. Carla will be back in Australia next month for some special events. Follow her blog for more details.
Have you ever been to Naples? Did you love it or hate it?
